Day 4 | 2022 GIRS

As you will be aware, Day 4 of the 2022 GIR Symposium will be facilitated off the Hopin platform.

 

Below you will find the sessions we are offering as part of our interactive, session-based day. These will be offered as either entirely virtual or entirely in-person. Please take a read of what each involves below.

Virtual Attendees: A Zoom link will be distributed to your email on the morning of Day 4 which will contain relevant links for you to access the event.

In-Person Attendees: We will be hosting you in the Abercrombie Business School (ABS, H70) at the University of Sydney with some light refreshments provided. After our closing ceremony, we will also be having an informal social celebration at The Royal Darlington (right across the road) with some great food and drink deals secured!

In this crisis simulation, attendees will role-play as various state and non-state stakeholders in tackling critical threats posed by space debris to address the question - how can we regulate space?

In collaboration with SUUNS, this Model United Nations event situates delegates within the UNSC as they deliberate the prospects and consequences of humanitarian intervention in Afghanistan—debating the topic ‘How can the United Nations best assist the people of Afghanistan?’

In this interactive simulation, attendees as stakeholders will delve into the world of security, statecraft and espionage, as they grapple with a critical breach of national security--all the while attempting to resolve these issues diplomatically amongst fellow actors
In this crisis simulation, attendees will role-play as various state and non-state stakeholders in tackling critical threats posed by a new pandemic which has taken a hold in the world - how will YOU  stop the thread?
